7 Ways To Start Your Day Off Well

Hiya everyone and welcome back to my blog!

I hope your all having a lovely week so far, I’ve spent mine doing online lectures and not much else to be honest. I feel like I’ve lost some off my motivation recently but I’m hoping that getting back into my blogging will help me out! I’ve been loving writing productivity posts recently as this is something that is really important for me at the moment. Today I am going to share 7 things that you should do everyday to give yourself the best start! Let’s get into the post!

1. Prepare the night before

The best thing you can do to start your day off well is to prepare the night before. This can include writing a to-do list for the next day, planning what your going to do and preparing anything you might need. If I’m going to placement the next day, I always make sure to pack my bag the night before, make my lunch as well as laying out my uniform. If I have a day of lectures the next day, I’ll make sure I have all the work and resources ready for the next day too.

2. Wake up at a decent time

By a decent time, I don’t mean 5am or when the sun is rising as some articles tell you to!. Just a reasonable time for what you have planned for that day. So if I have a lecture that day I will wake up at 7:30am but if I have nothing planned for that day I will give myself a lie in and crack on with my jobs later in the day. Sleep is SO important, you need to make sure you get enough of it!

3. Something for the brain

This is something that I need to do more often. It is so beneficial to start your day by doing something to get your brain active. I always grab my phone and start scrolling through social media when I first wake up but I’m trying to stop doing that! So it is a good idea to read a book or do a puzzle on a morning which will hopefully help to get you motivated for the day!

4. Drink a glass of water

This is something I have started doing recently. There have been studies that show that drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning has many benefits. It helps to rehydrate your body, wake you up and get you ready to start the day!

5. Have a good breakfast

You’ve all heard the saying, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I couldn’t agree more! Eating a good, healthy breakfast helps to energise you for the day and I find that if I don’t have it, I feel really sluggish and lack my usual motivation. Whether it’s porridge, cereal or toast, eat you breakfast guys!

6. Get moving

Getting active on a morning is so important! Exercising soon after you wake up has so many advantages such as: fewer distractions, it’s cooler, increases your alertness and productivity, can put you in a better mood and helps to regulate your metabolism. It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you do, it could be a walk, run, a home workout or yoga, just get moving!

7. Listen/ watch to something positive

This definitely makes a huge difference to my day! Starting the morning with some positive vibes can make a huge difference to your overall mood. I like to play my favourite up beat music on a morning while I’m getting ready to help get me pumped for the day. You can also watch some episodes of your favourite show or pop the radio on, whatever works for you!

I hope you enjoyed this post! How do you start your day off well? Do you have any tips? Let me know in the comments below! And as always, thanks for reading and stay safe,

These are great tips. I think the idea to do something active with your brain to start your day is a really good idea. I also tend to look through my phone, but I’ll give this a try.
By the way, I noticed the book in your pictures – Paris For One – and I thought this looked lovely, so I’ve just googled it to read what it’s about and I’ve added to my TBR list. πŸ™‚
